Connectance
We are a small team based in Geneva, Switzerland, working to improve humanitarian data infrastructure.
Connectance's mission is to democratise information in humanitarian settings — empowering people in need with every piece of humanitarian and services information that is useful to them, and giving them control over their data and over how their assistance needs and preferences are shared.
A world in which humanitarian and development responses are effectively and efficiently tailored to individual needs and preferences, locally contextualised, and delivered through the organisations best able to provide them.
The people building Connectance
Abraham leads the technical architecture and engineering of the Granite platform. With a background in software engineering and a focus on building at the intersection of technology and social impact, Abraham designed Granite's consent-first data model, the Personal ID system, and the mobile-first infrastructure that makes the platform work in low-connectivity environments.
Alvaro brings deep experience in humanitarian strategy, organisational development, and field operations. He has worked alongside organisations navigating displacement, food insecurity, and health crises across multiple regions. His vision for Connectance is rooted in a direct understanding of the data failures that leave people unserved.
