Connectance+

The intelligence layer of Granite.

Connectance+ turns the data flowing through Granite into answers — for programme staff in Granite SaaS and for people in need in the Mobile App. Same engine, two very different jobs.

Granite already holds something no single humanitarian actor has: a deduplicated, consent-governed, cross-organisational picture of a population. Connectance+ is how that picture becomes useful in the moment — an assistant that reads the platform through the same consent and audit rules as every human user, and never more.

In Granite SaaS

An analyst for programme staff

Inside Granite SaaS, Connectance+ answers the questions a programme officer or coordinator would otherwise spend a morning assembling: what does our reach look like this quarter, which services are over-subscribed, where are the referral bottlenecks, what does the conflict-event feed say about the district we are planning for.

It works from your organisation's own programmes, services and knowledge base, plus the shared public datasets — ACLED, DTM, UNHCR, ReliefWeb — and cites what it used. It is scoped to your organisation and to the role of the person asking: the assistant never has more permission than the human.

  • Programme and service search with reach numbers
  • Organisation snapshot — counts, recent activity, referral pipeline
  • Your own documents, searchable and cited
  • Live public context: conflict events, displacement flows, population figures
  • Plain analytical tone; every tool call audited

Where are our referrals stalling this month, and what does ACLED say about Yumbe?
Eleven referrals to Coastline Aid have waited on consent for over 7 days — all shelter cases from zone 3. ACLED logged 4 events near Yumbe in the last 14 days, up from 1; DTM shows a small inflow.

In the Mobile App

A guide for people in need

Inside the Mobile App, Connectance+ helps a person find out what exists for them and whether they qualify — which services are functioning nearby, what a programme requires, what to bring, what happens next. It answers in the person's language, in a calm, trauma-informed voice, and it never sees another person's data.

It is deliberately narrower than the staff assistant. It can search public services, check eligibility against the person's own profile, read only documents an organisation has marked safe for beneficiaries, and consult public datasets. It has no access to any organisation's internal counts or activity.

  • Find nearby services and their current status
  • Check eligibility against your own profile
  • Understand what a programme requires and what to expect
  • Multilingual, low-literacy-friendly conversation
  • No access to other people or to organisations' internal data

How it is built

Same rules as everyone else — enforced in code, not in a policy

Consent on the same code path

Any tool that can touch beneficiary data goes through the platform's consent checks — the same ones every other caller uses. There is no assistant-only bypass.

Tenant isolation

Each organisation's Connectance+ is scoped to that organisation's data. Retrieval is filtered by organisation before anything reaches the model.

Read-only first

The first release can only read. Actions that change records — referrals, notifications — arrive later and require a human to approve each one.

Every call audited

Each tool invocation is logged with who asked, on whose behalf, which tool, and whether it succeeded — one row per call.

Evaluated before trusted

A golden question set is run against every prompt or tool change before it ships. Twelve of twelve on the current staff profile.

Per-organisation add-on

Connectance+ is off by default and enabled per organisation, with usage metered per organisation. Embeddings and model vendors are held by Connectance — organisations hold no third-party AI accounts.
